I've been a bookworm since before I could read. My parents tell me that when I was barely old enough to be out of my crib, I would wake up at the crack of sparrows and "read" to myself every morning. I'd grab a book from my little bedside shelf, cozy down, and babble away as I turned the pages like a real reader. I guess you could say that I haven't looked back.
These days, I'm a pretty eclectic reader. I read mostly fiction (literary fiction, some more commercial titles too, historical fiction, mystery, classics). I also enjoy memoir and poetry.
Speed-reading has always been my habit and my comfort zone. I don't have a lot I want to change about my reading life, but one thing I know I can work on is slowing down to appreciate the beauty of the words on the page in front of me.
